Hitika Tiwari

Qualification
Assistant Professor, IT Systems & Analytics

Dr. Hitika Tiwari is currently an Assistant Professor of IT Systems and Analytics at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu. Before joining IIM Jammu, she worked as a Research Scientist in the AI and Data Division at Rakuten Group, Inc., Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Tiwari holds dual Ph.D. degrees: one completed in 2023 from NYCU Taiwan jointly with IIT Kanpur, and the other completed from IIT Kanpur (2019–2024), focusing on deep learning-based computer vision, with an emphasis on unsupervised and self-supervised techniques. She completed her M.Tech from IIT Mandi (2017–2019) and her B.Tech from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kanpur (2012–2016).
Dr. Tiwari has a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. She served as a tutor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur during the 2022-23 (sem 1) and 2023-24 (sem 1).

As a quality-focused researcher, Dr. Tiwari has published in top-tier venues such as IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC), and Image and Vision Computing (IMAVIS). Her research interests are centered on Computer Vision and Deep Learning, with a focus on addressing real-world challenges. In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Tiwari is an innovator, holding two patents—one granted and the other applied—for her work in AI and computer vision.
