Vinod is an Associate Professor of Practice in Business Policy and Strategy Area with Indian Institute of Management Jammu. He is a Fellow (PhD) and PGDIM (MBA) from IIM Mumbai. He is BE in Electrical Engineering from RCERT Chandrapur (affiliated to RTM Nagpur University).


Vinod is a practitioner turned professor having over two decades of industrial experience. He has worked with multiple companies in India. He has consulted several clients in India and across the globe. His Industry exposure spans across: CPG / FMCG: Cosmetics, Food & Beverages, Notebooks & Education Stationery; Energy: Oil & Gas, Power, Coal, Renewables; Steel, Metals & Mining; Automotive, MEP / HVAC, Agribusiness, Digital Marketing, and Advertising Operations. He has been a mentor and consultant to small businesses, MSMEs, Startups and NGOs.


Vinod is passionate about Energy and Environment. His doctoral research was on clean technology strategy. He did qualitative case study research across ten Indian oil and gas corporations to explore their strategies to grow clean energy businesses. He studied the analytical dimensions of environment viz: Uncertainty, Munificence, Complexity, Dynamism and Turbulence. And identified the organizational capabilities to manage these dimensions. He proposed a new theoretical perspective called Co-speciation view. He also explored Indian Knowledge and philology. He tried to decode Industrial & Systems Engineering & Management from PathAnjali Yoga Sutra and DhammaPath.


Vinod has conducted multiple courses on Strategy. He introduced a new course called Dynamic Competitive Strategy focused on managing VUCA Environment. He has conducted courses for multiple general and specialized MBA Programmes including Executive MBA and Part Time MBA. He has also organized a conference on Qualitative Research as a Co-chair. He has published two papers in international journals and presented papers in multiple conferences. One of his papers was
presented AOM 2020 (Academy of Management Conference), Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division, Global Paper Development Workshop.
