MBA Admission Policy

This document summarizes the approach of IIM Jammu to prepare the admission list for its MBA Batch 2025-27. The batch size is likely to be around 300. IIM Jammu reserves the right to modify any part of this document, including the various criteria and cut-offs mentioned at any time till the actual admission process for the batch is completed.

The admission process of IIM Jammu consists of:

  • CAT 2024 Examination
  • Shortlisting the candidates for Personal Interview (PI) process
  • Conducting the Personal Interview (PI) process: The 10 IIMs (IIM Jammu, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy, and IIM Udaipur) together will conduct Personal Interview (PI) through Common Admission Process (CAP 2025 process) to be coordinated this year by IIM Bodhgaya.
  • In addition to the Common Admission Process as mentioned, IIM Jammu will conduct an additional Supplementary Admission Process (SAP 2025) for candidates who meet IIM Jammu PI shortlisting criteria but do not meet the CAP 2025 cut off criteria.
  • Preparing the Merit List based on CAT, PI, and Profile scores are indicated in the following tables.
  • Last date for withdrawal of Provisional admission offer and refund of Fee Paid: 05:30 PM, June 20th, 2025 (Tentative date)

1. Criteria for PI Shortlisting*

The cut-off percentile marks for shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) process in the three sections and the total CAT percentile for different categories of students are given below:

*The cut-off can be higher/lower than the tabulated numbers after the declaration of CAT 2024 result.

IIM Jammu's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for the Personal Interview (PI) process based on criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.

2. Criteria for Preparing the Merit List

The criteria for preparing the merit list will be based on the score obtained after adding the following:

  • CAT Score: 0.45 × Absolute CAT Percentile = 45 marks
  • Personal Interview (PI): 30 Marks
  • Profile : 25 Marks

The above three scores shall be added and will be used to make the final merit list.

2.1 CAT Score (45% weightage)

IIM Jammu will use CAT 2024 score. One candidate can get maximum 45 marks

2.2 Personal Interview (PI) (30% weightage)

  • IIM Jammu will give weightage in Personal Interview (PI) Maximum: 30 marks

2.3 Profile (25% weightage)

One candidate can get maximum 25 marks.

  • Academic Profile maximum: 10 marks
  • Work Experience maximum: 10 marks
  • Diversity (Gender) maximum: 05 marks

2.3.1 Academic Profile (10 Marks)

IIM Jammu will consider the following weightage:

  • 10th Standard : 3 marks
  • 12th Standard : 3 marks
  • Graduation : 4 marks

The following would be the basis for scoring candidates with respect of their academic profiles:

2.3.2 Work Experience (10 marks)**

Following will be the basis for scoring candidates:

** Only completed months will be considered

** Only Full-time remunerative experience after graduation must be entered. Part-time/ Project/ Internship/ training/ apprenticeship/ Articleship/ Pre-graduation work experience should not be entered and will not be counted as work experience.

Experience Related Certificates:

1. Work experience Letter and Relieving Letter is required for all the past organizations/companies the applicant has worked with. The certificate must be on the company letterhead with seal and signature of the competent authority.

2. Service certificate is required from the current organization's/company's letterhead & issued by an appropriate competent authority with the seal and signature for those presently working. In case, if a service certificate is not available, please provide the offer letter/Joining letter with a first-month payslip and payslip of the latest two (2) months. Please merge individual files into a single file and upload the same on the website.

3. Salary certificate from the bank is mandatory for candidates who have worked in the unorganized sector. The salary must be transferred from the firm’s bank account to the employee’s bank account.

4. Experience earned without salary, or with cash salary will not be considered.

5. In case the candidate is a proprietor or partner of a firm, the candidate has to provide the document proof such as the income tax for the relevant period and a certificate of registration for doing a business from the municipal corporation or appropriate authorities such as MSME certificate issued by Govt. of India, Udyog Aadhar Registration Certificate, Partnership deed of the firm duly signed by all partners and GST registration certificate.

6. Work-experience data till 31st January 2025 will be considered admission processes.

3. Reservations

IIM Jammu will follow strictly the Government of India's Reservation Policy:

4. Offer Acceptance Fee and Withdrawal

A candidate receiving admission offer from IIM Jammu has to pay an offer acceptance amount of Rs.50,000/- within the stipulate date. If a candidate accepts the admission offer for the program, his/her offer acceptance amount will be adjusted against the term I Fee. If a candidate subsequently wishes to withdraw the offer within the withdrawal date i.e., 20th June 2025 (tentative) , amount will be refunded after deducting Rs. 1,000/- as processing charges. The refund of fee (EOI for All Candidates, Offer Acceptance fees and Term 1 fee for withdrawing candidates) will be initiated in the 4th week of July 2025 (tentative).

If a candidate applies for withdrawal after the date specified by the Institute, no refund will be admissible. In the event of withdrawal from the program after registration, no refund of offer acceptance amount & Term Fee will be made.

NB: All expression of interest (EOI) fee received from students will be refunded (without any deduction) to all the students who have paid the amount irrespective of their admission status at the end of the admission cycle. No need to raise any request regarding EOI refund.
